--- title: Telephony providers description: Connect and validate Twilio, Exotel, or Tata Smartflo phone numbers. --- ## Supported providers | Provider | Typical information needed | Validation | | --- | --- | --- | | Twilio | Account credentials and owned number | Credential check and test call | | Exotel | Account/subdomain, API credentials, number | Provider validation and test call | | Tata Smartflo | Smartflo credentials and number mapping | Authentication and controlled call | Exact fields are shown in the current dashboard and may vary by account or provider configuration. Never place credentials in documentation, chat, screenshots, or source control. ## Connection workflow 1. Open **Integrations** and choose the telephony provider. 2. Enter the provider credentials from its admin console. 3. Save and run validation. 4. Add or synchronize an owned phone number. 5. Assign it to a tested agent. 6. Place one inbound and/or outbound test appropriate to the provider. 7. Confirm call status, transcript, recording, and provider identifiers. ## Number assignment An inbound number routes to its assigned active agent. Outbound campaigns may select one number or a pool of up to ten using smart, round-robin, or sequential rotation. ## Common failures - Invalid or expired provider credentials. - Number is not owned by the connected account. - Country/region permissions block the destination. - Provider webhook or application URL is not configured. - Agent is inactive or the number is assigned elsewhere. - Insufficient provider balance or concurrency.
